Success at workEMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The most valuable asset of the organization you work for is you. Both you and the organization benefit when the employee and their family have easy access to services that deal with personal issues we all face at varying times in our lives.

Personal issues can cause stress, anger, anxiety, abuse or sadness and make daily living more difficult. Problems vary in their intensity, but more difficult problems can best be solved with professional assistance.

Your organization may establish a free Employee Assistance Program with Peninsula Mental Health Services and Peninsula Addiction Services to address personal problems occurring both at home and work.

WHAT IS EAP?

The EAP is a confidential and voluntary program sponsored by the organization you work for to provide counseling and referral services. All discussion with the EAP behavioral health professionals are protected. Within the limitations of strict State and Federal Law, the details of your discussions may not be released to anyone without your written permission. Participation in the EAP will not jeopardize your job in any way.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY EAP?

You or a family member can call directly to make an appointment with and EAP professional. The clinician will help you assess the problem, provide short term counseling when indicated, make referrals to other professional services when needed and follow up to make sure that you received quality services. EAP services are short-term and solution-oriented. Appointments are available within one week unless an emergency requires immediate attention.

WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS DOES YOUR EAP HELP YOU WITH?

HOW MUCH WILL THE EAP COST ME?
