CRITICAL INCIDENTS

For contracted departments within 30 miles of Salisbury on-scene critical incident consultation is available. Only trained critical incident negotiators will provide this service.  When Dr Finegan is away from the area no backup coverage will be provided. This service is only available to departments that support regular training and interaction between Dr. Finegan and other members of the tactical and negotiation team. Services will be provided once he  has been familiarized with the officers and procedures of the particular negotiation and tactical units. For police departments requesting this service, Dr. Finegan will respond immediately to tactical and negotiation team activation as well as participate in tactical and negotiation team training.  Additionally, he will participate in the debriefing following all critical incidents.  He  will be available to make recommendations to the tactical and negotiation team commanders on the psychological status and readiness of negotiation and tactical team members.
